WHAT PEOPLE SAY

1.jpeg

"Lorissa's fine art paintings hold a spirit of elegance and calm.

Her landscapes draw me into a place of infinite subtleties, evoking a calm sense of expansion.

I love her attention to detail, her fine line work, free brush strokes and the mastery of her paint application.

Her portraits speak to the dignity and resilience of the human spirit."

Lorissa lives near Noosa Heads, an idyllic beach town on the Sunshine Coast.

She has studied and worked as an artist for 20 years, completing a double degree in both Visual Art and Music in her early 20s. She holds a Masters of International and Community Development,

and has travelled and worked with International Humanitarian Organisations in developing countries.

She enjoys using her artwork as a platform to engage in community driven causes such as championing the economic empowerment of women, refugee advocacy and to give support to those recovering from displacement such as victims of trafficking and domestic violence and abuse.

She is the creator of the blog FEARLESS, which aims to use art to express the faith of the heart and bring beauty, truth and freedom through art and poetry as healing for the soul.

'Lorissa's work is aesthetically appealing while her subject matter is also a
historical record inviting the viewer into a narrative that evokes strong emotion and thoughts that relate to social conscious issues.'

About the work...

It's a poetic voice experienced in colour, a song that is felt and journeyed into, like living and breathing in a rhythm or symphony.

It's spirited, a connection, a dream, the faith of the heart.

The truth of beauty expressed with freedom.

Drawing inspiration from nature and music, I explore the interplay of improvisation, rhythm and movement in colour and form. As the light shifts through the landscapes changing colour and mood, I find expression both of the human stories and the beauty of the landscape itself as it is captured in a moment of time and space.

My work expresses the perceptions of faith and dreams and brings expression to the stories that we hold as treasures of experience here within the beauty of this natural realm, and as we explore our desire to experience and connect to the spiritual through the heart expression.
